Rooted in Malawi and built from the lived realities of the people we serve, our Proactive Doorstep Care (PDC) model goes beyond episodic care, it offers continuous, person-centered support that reaches individuals in the comfort and dignity of their homes.

A Homegrown Model Led by Local Leadership

Unlike many global organizations that operate from afar, Wandikweza was founded, led, and staffed by Malawians, with deep cultural understanding and community trust. Our leadership does not parachute in, we grew up here, and we walk with the communities we serve every day.

Proactive, Not Reactive

Most health services wait for patients to come to facilities. we flip the system. Through CHWs, Nurses on Bikes, mobile clinics, and door-to-door outreach, we bring care where it’s needed — especially to mothers, children, the elderly, and those with no means of transportation.

A Life-Centered Approach, Not Just Clinical

We combine clinical care with empathy, nutrition, mental health support, and social connection. Whether through porridge programs, caregiver education, or emotional support for adolescent girls, we meet people where they are — physically and emotionally.

Our model doesn’t prioritize volume over value. We target the most neglected, hard-to-reach areas that many systems bypass, not because it’s easy, but because it’s right. We work where the health system ends and where suffering is quietest.
